Merry Christmas

After the busiest half-year I've ever experienced, I feel something like this little guy. Jack is part of this year's holiday promotional collaboration with my agent, and right now he's scampering around the house in the direction of anyone making holiday preparations.

Blessings to you all.  — lon eric

New book on the way

A new children's book is out this fall. It's a project based on the work of a nonprofit group called ConKerr Cancer. The book follows a boy on his adventures that are sparked when a colorful pillowcase arrives in his hospital room every day. Kansas City Star Books is publishing the book, and it was written by Katie Kerr. - lec

Summer work

The publishers gave me a copy of another new book featuring my illustrations this week, while I'm wrapping up another children's book. It's going to be a pretty busy summer, as I look forward to leading my new young art students this fall.

Melissa's Magic Ride

A new book has arrived on my doorstep, Melissa's Magic Ride. The author had it published in hardcover and paperback simultaneously. Here is a note from the author's site:

And so here is Melissa, a bright eight year old with yearnings to know a father she cannot remember. Come along with her on her exciting outward adventure and soulful inner journey to the heart of her relationship with her father.

Book projects

Three book projects are in various stages of completion right now, but a new quilt lady appears again in April. On the drawing board are jungles, dinosaurs, mules and flying stuffed animals. Never a dull moment around here.  - lec
